Why is water safety important in our day to day life?
Water safety is one of the most important safety measures that needs to be taken to ensure a healthy lifestyle. People usually prefer bisleri water instead of normal water even if they go to a restaurant to ensure water safety. Everyone is aware of the types of diseases spread through poor water hygiene like jaundice, cholera, and several other water borne diseases.
These kind of disease can be fatal if not treated and damages the immune system and lever in case of jaundice. Earlier it was suggested that drinking water should be boiled at least for an hour before drinking so that it kills all the bacteria and until its safe to drink. But these days technology has come up with water purifiers which give water as good as boiled water and ensures complete water safety. One of the favorite forms of fast food paani puri the water used is bisleri when you go to a high end stall. In spite of so many measures taken to ensure water safety these diseases have not been eradicated completely there are many people who suffer from such diseases the rate of deaths caused by water borne diseases are still increasing. The only question that is left unanswered is that where are we lacking in water safety?
The only answer to this is that the efforts that we are making to purify water is not enough and we need to try even more to eradicate these diseases completely. There is a misconception that underprivileged people are the ones most affected due to lack of water safety but its not true people from well to do families who are quite capable of affording the best of water purifiers also contract these diseases. This soul cause of this scenario is sheer carelessness towards hygiene.
Children are the most affected mainly school going children, usually children always look forward to munching on to something like a snack mainly paani puri and it is not always necessary that the water used is hygienic and also the water that is provided in roadside dhabas and when this happens on a regular basis people are bound to contract such diseases.
One should take necessary precautions and avoid such health disasters. You don't have to do much. Simple methods like using water purifiers and those who don't have one make sure that you boil water at least for an hour before drinking to ensure water safety can make a great deal of a difference. It is not only important for us to be hygiene conscious in terms of clean drinking water but also spread the awareness amongst people who donot have enough knowledge about the ill effects. . Like several campaigns like aids awareness, polio, breast cancer, right to education etc regular campaigns should be held spreading the knowledge about the importance of drinking clean and safe water in villages mostly amongst the illiterate lot and enlighten them about the pros and cons.
